Maureen Shay Tajsar is a writer, painter, teacher, editor, chicken-wrangler, trapeze-flying and roller-skating dreamer and adventurer. Her work is inspired by the night, the stars, snails, lanterns, snowflakes, cellos, boats, love letters, and the color magenta.
She holds a BA and MA in Theatre/English from Trinity College, Dublin Ireland, and an MA and PhD from the University California Los Angeles in English Postcolonial Literature, with a specialization in global Anglophone narratives, refugee migration, and extraterritorial geography. She also ran off to the circus in between and made a bunch of puppets while doing acrobatic flips.
When she’s not fighting her sourdough starter, you can find her building garden orchards, making glitter playdough with her kids, and constructing fairy forts in large sycamore trees.
